BETA Kimya A.Ş., one of the leading companies in the Turkish chemical industry, has added another high-value-added industrial investment to its portfolio. BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS, completed and brought into operation with a massive 1.7 billion TL investment at the Kocaeli Gebze V (Chemical) Specialized Organized Industrial Zone, will become the largest adhesive and glue production facility in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, with 35,000 m² of enclosed factory space built on a 50,000 m² site.

With an annual production capacity of 150,000 tons, BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS will serve as a production hub for more than 200 products across 10 different categories. Alongside high-value PUR Hotmelt Adhesives, silane-terminated polyurethane adhesives and sealants will also be manufactured domestically in Turkey for the first time.

The opening ceremony of BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS brought together leading figures from the Turkish chemical industry and the business world, with the participation of T.C. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly's Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Committee Mustafa Varank, Governor of Kocaeli Seddar Yavuz, Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tahir Büyükakın, Chairman of the Board of BETA Kimya A.Ş. and Chairman of İKMİB Adil Pelister, Chairman of TİM Mustafa Gültepe, and Chairman of GEBKİM Vefa İbrahim Aracı.

Minister Kacır: "With this facility, we are beginning to manufacture silane-terminated polyurethane adhesives and sealants domestically for the first time, products we have always had to import until now"

Speaking at the opening ceremony of BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS, T.C. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır said: "Since 2012, our Ministry has issued investment incentive certificates for more than 1,700 investments in the chemical sector, with a total fixed investment value of approximately 450 billion lira. These investments have paved the way for more than 50,000 jobs. BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS is one of the investments we have supported through our investment incentive system. The BETA Kimya GEBKİM Campus we are opening today will be the birthplace of more than 200 products across 10 different categories, serving as building blocks for many industries. With this new production facility, we will also source key inputs domestically for strategic sectors such as Togg — one of our country's historic projects — as well as defense and aerospace. With an investment value of 1.7 billion lira and 35,000 square meters of enclosed space, BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS, the largest adhesive and glue facility in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, will provide employment for 500 people. The high-value-added products manufactured at this facility will reach 150 countries across 5 continents. Our campus will contribute to our economy's green transformation through its environmentally conscious approach to production. I wholeheartedly congratulate Mr. Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of BETA KİMYA A.Ş. and Chairman of İKMİB, and the entire Beta Kimya family, who have added value to the Turkish chemical industry for 36 years, for their valuable and visionary investments."

Varank: "BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS will be a source of pride, with achievements that make us proud"

Mustafa Varank, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly's Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Committee, said: "It makes us very happy to attend groundbreaking or opening ceremonies for our fine factories across every corner of our country — factories that drive production, employment, and exports. BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS, brought to life with a 1.7 billion lira investment, will create new employment opportunities for our citizens and our country. We are not slowing down in production and investment as we work to strengthen Turkey's position in every field. BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS, whose groundbreaking we held together in 2020 and whose opening we are once again celebrating together today, will go on to achieve accomplishments that fill us with pride as the largest adhesive and glue production facility in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. We will continue to grow by keeping Turkey on the path of production, investment, employment, and exports. I once again congratulate Mr. Adil Pelister and the entire BETA Kimya family for everything this remarkable production facility brings to our country."

Pelister: "With the new generation of products coming out of our BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS, we will achieve many industry firsts"

Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of BETA Kimya A.Ş., noting that the new production facility is a product of the company's vision for creating high value, said: "As BETA Kimya, investment, production, and growth have always been our priority. Today, we are proud to bring into operation a major investment that will add value to the Turkish chemical industry and the national economy, and that will stand as a milestone for our BETA Kimya family. We laid the groundwork for our new production facility with great courage, amid both the economic and human hardships of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, through both material and personal sacrifice, we have brought yet another modern production facility to our country's industry and chemical sector. Our new production hub, BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS — 100% domestically and privately owned, and a source of pride with an investment value of approximately 1.7 billion TL — will be the largest adhesive and glue production facility in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. It will increase our production capacity fivefold, and with our annual production capacity of 150,000 tons, we will step into 5 new high-value-added product groups here, achieving industry firsts with our new-generation products for many strategically important sectors — from automotive to packaging, and from aerospace to defense. Alongside the PUR Hotmelt adhesives our country has long imported from abroad, we will also take pride in manufacturing silane-terminated polyurethane adhesives and sealants in Turkey for the first time. I would like to extend my thanks, above all to our Ministry of Industry and Technology, as well as to the relevant ministries and public institutions, for their valuable support. I hope that our BETA KİMYA GEBKİM CAMPUS brings good fortune to our country, our company, our chemical industry, and our manufacturing sector."
